What is the difference between Digestive Enzyme and Digestive Enzyme Pro?
The main difference lies in a single ingredient: Digestive Enzymes Pro contains an 8th enzyme, prolyl-oligopeptidase. Otherwise, the two formulas are identical.
What’s the Same
The seven basic enzymes are present in the same amounts per capsule in both products: alpha-amylase (4,800 U), papain (600,000 U), bromelain (125 GDU), Aspergillus oryzae protease (1,200 HUT), lactase (1,000 ALU), lipase (350 FIP), and cellulase (500 CU).
What is prolyl-oligopeptidase used for?
This enzyme specializes in breaking down proline-rich protein structures, such as those found in gluten. The Pro version is therefore designed to be taken before meals containing gluten, particularly by people who are mildly sensitive to it.
⚠️ This does not apply to gluten intolerance or celiac disease. Rather, it is intended for mild sensitivity.
In summary, for general digestive support, the classic version offers the best value, as it provides more capsules for the same price. If you feel heavy or bloated—especially after meals high in gluten (pasta, bread, pizza, etc.)—the Pro version is more suitable.
